We took a bus
to Kokufer,
then walked 3 miles through the countryside were we saw rice paddies and wonderful views of the mountains in the distance...
and cornfields and a farmer out on his tractor (you'd think we were in Iowa).
There was a small family cemetery in a lovely serene location across a rice paddy...
and a small temple.
The walk took us to the bottom of the Utsue 48 waterfalls.

Besides the waterfalls we saw a display of
water wheels...
Then walked
to the top where there were great views of the surrounding mountains.
The falls were beautiful, and very relaxing.

walked down, and walked back 3 miles to the bus stop.
