We took a train to Kyoto then to Osaka.  Passed through some beautiful country.

After checking in to our hotel, we ate lunch.

Then we went to see what was going on in the area and stumbled across a festival/performance, which ended with a parade through town.

Gathering a crowd in the square.

We took the subway in Osaka several times.  The first time we were somewhat lost while looking at the subway map (in Japanese), but a helpful Japanese who spoke English notice our lost look, and help us understand the map.  After that it was easy to find our way.
