Thu, Jul 26: Koyasan

We attended morning prayers, lots of chanting, some cymbals, and a gong.   And then had breakfast, again sitting on the floor wearing the Yukatas.

We then walked around some more, including:

Kongōbu-ji Temple,

Which has a Belfry, rebuilt in 1864 after a fire destroyed the original.

and a very large Banryu tei rock garden.

The Danjo Garan Complex,

Acala Temple, Built around 1197.

Danjo Garan Temple.

With a lake with lots of hungry catfish.

And we found a small gate leading to a small temple.  Apparantly not many tourist go this way.

The walk through the town took us back by the Shojoshin Temple...

along more pretty sights...

and past a store front with the most incredible origami (folded paper creations) swan.

We later took the train back to Osaka through some beautiful scenery.
